Etubics Adenovirus Vector Vaccine Platform
It
is well established that the adenovirus vectors can be used as a means
of vaccination. However, previous adenovirus technologies have
significant limitations such as adenovirus immunity which creates an
inability for repeat dosing, and rare but serious adverse effects.
Etubics AVVP technology leverages the advantages of
the adenovirus, while overcoming historical immunity to the platform
and safety issues of earlier technology. Twelve years of research
and development has led to development of our proprietary adenovirus
platform that has the following novel attributes:
Safety Thoroughly Studied Vector Enabling Repeat Dosing. The extensive genetic deletions in the AVVP technology allows for a strong safety profile. To date, no adverse events have been seen in animal models including mice, ferrets, and non-human primates. No adverse events have been seen in the human colorectal phase I/II trial. In addition, the AVVP technology allows the vaccine platform to be delivered multiple times to the same person without vector immunity issues as reported for prior adenovirus platforms.
Cell-Mediated Immunity and Antibody Responses.
Most vaccines work by eliciting antibodies but fail to stimulate the
other critically important arm of immunity, cell mediated immunity
(CMI). Hard to treat diseases, such as solid cancers, certain
influenzas, HIV, and malaria are not destroyed by antibodies
alone. A more effective vaccine would elicit both an antibody and
CMI response. Etubics proprietary AVVP demonstrates this dual
immune system activation in a variety of disease models and can even
induce CMI in the presence of adenovirus immunity. This allows us
to target a variety of diseases, including hard-to-treat and
rapidly changing disease areas.
Rapid Application for Emerging Diseases. Etubics can take a vaccine from identification of disease to clinical application within 6 to 12 months as our vaccines are created in human cell lines and are based off of our patented platform.
Manufacturing Efficiency. Etubics can quickly and efficiently scale up production within months of regulatory clearance to commercial quantities.
Potential to Treat a Wide Range of Diseases. Etubics AVVP candidates have one of the largest gene carrying capacities allowing the platform to work with a wide variety of hard to treat diseases and obviating the need to choose a portion of the disease to target.
