The Company is developing "next generation" protective and therapeutic vector vaccines. These vector vaccines enable a new generation of vaccines directed against diseases that have been recalcitrant to previous immunizations and treatments. The Company's targets include vaccines against certain cancers, bioterrorism targets, malaria, human immunodeficiency virus, Leishmania, and influenza.

The vector vaccines produced by the Company stimulate cell-mediated immunity in addition to the traditional antibody responses to protect and treat infectious diseases and certain cancers. The Company believes that cell-mediated immune responses are the best way to induce protection from infection by bioterrorism targets, malaria, human immunodeficiency virus, Leishmania, and influenza. The Company's "next generation" vectors have been molecularly engineered to accommodate large expression elements, allowing vaccines to be produced that may stimulate much broader immune protection.
