Dr. Frank R. Jones, President and Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Jones is a seasoned bio-tech entrepreneur. As the founder of Etubics, Dr. Jones has served as the Company’s Chairman of the Board of Director’s since its inception. He is the Principle Investigator on many of the company's National Institute of Health grants, which total over $7 million. From 1981 to 1996, Dr. Jones served as Founding Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the publically traded medical device company IMRÉ CORPORATION (now Cypress Biosciences, Inc. NASD: CYPB), which focused on immunoadsorption treatments for various human diseases. From 1996 to 1998 Dr. Jones was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Scius Corporation, a private company. From 1998 to 2003 he consulted to the biotechnology industry and was the Managing Partner of Haidas Ranches, LLC a land development company. From 1983 until 1986, Dr. Jones was Director of the Immune Response Program of the Pacific Northwest Research Foundation in Seattle. Dr. Jones was a Researcher in the Department of Complement and Effector Biology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (“MSKCC”) in New York City from 1980 to 1981 and was a Research Associate in the Laboratory of Veterinary Oncology at MSKCC from 1981 to 1983. Dr. Jones holds a PhD degree from the University of Washington in Biological Structure/Cellular Immunology. He has 10 patents to his name and has published over 40 peer reviewed scientific papers.

Ms. Carol R. Jones, Vice President of Administration and acting Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Jones was previously Vice President and Managing Partner of Haidas Ranches, LLC land development from 1996 to 2003. Ms. Jones has more than 20 years of administrative experience in various environments including seven years at the University of Washington working as a Budget Coordinator overseeing 16 grants and contracts with six figure annual budgets. She also has management experience from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft and Pacific Telephone and Telegraph in addition to having been involved in the administrative functions of two other startup companies including IMRE Corporation, of which was brought public. She graduated from Steven Henager College, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Ms. Elizabeth S. Gabitzsch, Vice President, Research

Ms.Gabitzsch is the Vice-President, Research for the Etubics Corporation where she assumes the overall responsibility for the pre-clinical research and development of novel vaccines to treat cancers and infectious diseases. Under her leadership, the company has advanced from pre-clinical studies to clinical trials for our colorectal product. She has also brought the Company’s human E.C7 manufacturing cell line to the GMP Master Cell Bank stage and is a collaborator on several NIH funded grants exceeding millions of dollars in funding. Ms. Gabitzsch received academic training in microbiology, chemistry and immunology at Colorado State University.  She  is the leader in the publication of the studies that put forth the scientific basis for the Company’s technology. Her publications include advancing the development of vaccines against infectious agents such as HIV-1 and H1N1 and immunotherapeutic applications of the AVVP vector against breast and colon cancers.  Ms. Gabitzsch also presents the Company’s findings at domestic and international meetings.  Before joining the Etubics Corporation, she was previously at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Division of Vector-borne and Infectious Diseases (DVBID).  While at the CDC, Ms. Gabitzsch was a recipient of an Oak Ridge Institute of Science fellowship. Her areas of research focused on bacterial and viral vector-borne pathogens. 

Dr. Joseph P. Balint, Laboratory Director

Dr. Balint is a trained immunologist with 25 years experience in academic and corporate environments. He has taken products from the bench to the bedside, gaining FDA and ISO licensing. Dr. Balint is currently directing Etubics' laboratory operations and writing research grants, publications and patents. He also works at the bench doing immune assays, serology testing, and cell-line operations. From 1982 to 1989 he was Director of Extracorporeal Products, IMRE CORPORATION; from 1989 to 1993 he was head of Product Development and from 1986 to 1996, he was head of the company's clinical diagnostic laboratory. Dr. Balint holds a PhD from Rutgers University (Microbiology) and has ASCP certification in Microbiology. He has 10 patents to his name and has published over 40 scientific papers.

Ms. Kimberly R. Jones, Director of Corporate Development and Communications

Ms. Jones acts as the company's liaison for partners, including universities and pharmaceutical companies. She also heads the shareholder communication activities for the company. Prior to Etubics, Ms. Jones was a senior account executive at Richmond Public Relations, working with companies ranging from entrepreneurial to publicly traded to increase their public image and reach sales goals. Ms. Jones graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in communications.
