According to the American Cancer Society, cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for 7.4 million deaths in 2009, with colon and breast cancer being among the most deadly. Deaths from cancer worldwide are projected to continue rising, with an estimated 12 million deaths in 2030.
