Colon Cancer

Colorectal cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States when men and women are considered separately, and the second leading cause when both sexes are combined.  According to The American Cancer Society there were 106,100 new cases of colon cancer and 40,870 new cases of rectal cancer in the United States in 2009.

Etubics colon cancer immunotherapy targets CEA expressing colon cancer cells.  CEA represents an attractive target antigen for immunotherapy since it is over-expressed in nearly all colorectal cancers and many pancreatic cancers, 70% of non-small cell lung cancers and approximately 50% of breast cancers.

Etubics' colon cancer immunotherapeutic product is currently in Phase I/II clinical trials at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. and Medical Oncology Associates, in Spokane, Wash.  Etubics clinical trials have been funded entirely by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), through their peer-reviewed granting process. For more information on Etubics' clinical trial, visit ClinicalTrials.gov.
